The Hawaii Humane Society has reinstated the Neuter Now Program. Starting on June 3rd you can obtain a certificate to receive a discounted rate on spaying or neutering your pet at our clinic. In addition to the guideline given by the humane society here is some basic information about how the certificate works at our clinic.
Once you have obtained your certificate you can schedule an appointment to see one of our doctors on staff here at the office. Be sure to bring your certificate with you to your appointment. Your certificate covers a pre surgical examination. Pre surgical examinations are limited to healthy pets that have already had all of their vaccines administered either here or at another veterinary clinic. If your pet has been vaccinated elsewhere you will need to bring proof of those vaccines with you to your appointment. If your pet is ill or has not had all of its vaccines you will be charged an additional fee of $44 dollars for the examination. You will also need to have all vaccines administered before your pet can be admitted into the hospital for surgery. You can obtain your certificate at your local satellite city hall. The current fees are as follows.
$40 male cat
$50 female cat
$50 male dog
$75 female dog
In additon to the cost of the cerificate you will be charged $89.15 for cats and $104.62 plus tax for dogs to compensate for the doctors time and materials that cannot be paid for with the certificate alone. You may also choose to have other serices provided which are not part of the certificate price such as blood work or IV catheter placement. The technician who assists you will go over these options with you during your appointment. Pets must also be free of external parasites (fleas and ticks) before surgery can be performed. If your pet is found to have any parasites on the day of surgery we will administer medications to eliminate the problem. These precautions are taken to ensure that your pet does not have any post surgical complications. Please help us decrease the pet population in the community; spay or neuter your pet.
